i want to enlarge a rectangular downspout opening for 4quot; aluminum gutters to fit a 4quot; round pvc pipei would replace the 2quot;x3quot; downspouts with 4quot; pvchow do i join the pvc to the downspout opening? also, the pvc is much heavier than aluminumis there some kind of strap? thanks.

there is an adapter you can buy from home depot or lowes cut a round hole the size of the adapter and insert the adapter into the gutter, use plenty of sealent around the edges of the adapter, then screw the pvc downspout to the adapteryou can also pick up straps from either place or just use galvinized sheet metal cut into strips the other option is to trace a circle the size of the inside diameter of the downspout onto the bottom of the gutter centered on the existing downspout holesnip the gutter from the existing hole to the circle every few inches, then bend them downfit the new downspout over the bent tabs and attach with 2 or 3 screws recommend predrilling the downspout and use metal sharppoint screws or selfdrilling screws cheers and good luck
