Question:

Contractor stealing my old aluminum siding?

I had an insurance claim that paid to replace my roof and old aluminum sidingAfter the roof was done the work on the siding began, I told the contracting company that I wanted to keep the aluminum siding to recycle itThe contracting company then told me that I could not and insinuated that it was part of their budget, what should I do? I did not give them permission to keep it and I did not sign any paperwork saying that they could keep it.

Keep the scrap? That's kind of like paying for a nice dinner but keeping the tip! Your getting a new roof and siding! Would you like them to wash your car and trim the hedges too? From a legal standpoint, If they left the scrap (Construction debris) on the job site and you didn't do anything with it for a couple of months, Then a kid got cut or hurt on it, you could sue them for leaving it there because it would be your word against theirsAnd, since they didn't do as instructed by the contract with the insurance company, they would loseI wouldn't leave it either!
