Question:

converting copper piping to flex?

I have to replace copper piping with a flex line in order for home depot to be able to install a dishwasher. can anyone walk me thru this? thanks, i need to do this by Tuesday.

Answer:

they sell conversion kits at the home depot and Lowe's. all they need are the sizes of the pipes to complete the job. try to get them to use the quick connects, that will make the job go quicker.
USA If you mean the last foot or two of pipe, you can install a flexible line - called a flexible supply line. The maximum length allowed (and sold) is 30 inches, and they have female threads on each end. One end attaches to a male adapter on the copper tubing, the other end at the appliance. To install one, you need to cut the copper piping and install a male adapter on it (usually by soldering it on). The adapter must be the right size for the flexible supply line. If you need to install more than 30 inches of flexible tubing, you need special tools that cost several hundred dollars, and special adapters to go from copper tubing to the PEX (flexible) tubing. If this is the case, please call a licensed plumber.
you should be able to get a breaded dishwasher supply line from home depot to go to it just make sure its the right size thats if your replacing an old one
