Copper and chromium?

So im getting confused with these. Why are they exceptions? I know copper seems like: (Ar) 4s2 3d9 but is actually (Ar) 4s1 3d10. And chromium seems like (Ar) 4s2 3d4 but is actually (Ar) 4s1 3d5. How would their orbital diagrams look like?
