Question:

Copper pipe in the studs with expanding foam?

I‘m doing work on my house, and I just put copper tubbing through the studs, but the holes I drilled are a little too big. Is it safe to use expanding foam to help keep it from rattling when I use it? Or would that hurt the pipes

Answer:

It will be fine. The building inspector Requires it. Builder 33 years.
That is one of the purposes extruded foam was invented. Spray the entire pipes and imbed them in foam to insulate them so the hot water pipe heats up quicker and the cold water pipe stays cold but won't freeze in the winter.
