Question:

Couch in front of air intake?

I‘d like to put my couch exactly where the air intake is for my AC unit. I know I can‘t block the intake, but does anyone know if I were to put the couch, say, 6 inches away from the wall, would this leave sufficient room for the air to circulate?

Answer:

Air circulation probably won't be a problem but you may find a lot of noise if you are sitting there and trying to read or watch TV. It will also tend to draw dust to the couch.
burn some oil and have a sniff, seriously, youll never forget it, its not bad but very distinctive and then youll recognise it. alternatively get someone to give it a few revs while you stand at the back, look for blue smoke, not white / black but blue.
You will smell it. It will be like a burning smell, trust me you'll know it when you smell it as for leaking just look under the car and see if there a puddle of anything
That would be fine. All long as the air passage is not completely blocked you shouldnt have a problem.
if it,s burning oil badly check the exhaust tail pipe is not oily, also drive it hard and see if there is white smoke from the exhaust
