Question:

Could an odometer designed for bicycles with 27-inch wheels be used accurately on a bike with 24-inch?

wheels? Explain!!!

Answer:

No. Odometers are set to count the number of turns of the wheel. If the wheel circumference is smaller, then the bike will do less distance per turn then the odometer is expecting. It will exaggerate the distance you have traveled. Most digital odometers have a setting function which lets you change the wheel size - it should have a little manual to tell you - its not hard.
