theres plenty of good rod brands. since you sound new im gonna give you some decent brands and their good newbie rods. abu garcia's veritas or vendetta, shimano's crucial, shakespeares ugly stik (cheap but not that good)
Use the resin and cloth in your mold.. Fibreglass filler is not suitable for forming parts. Be aware that some resins are famous for not adhering to itself (to already set surfaces) or to old resin surfaces when doing repairs. Make sure you follow the directions and use the correct products for the job.
