Linkin Park is definitely nu-metal. And no, of course nu-metal isn't dying... There are many nu-metal bands that go on creating exceptional songs, Korn, Slipknot etc.
I think that they were labeled as a nu metal band. Now there labeled alternative rock cause their songs are more, how should I say this, lighter. They aren't that heavy like they were before, so that can't be labeled (nu) metal. Can it?

Some people label them that, yes. But that would be the genre-confused youth of today. They're not. And I can only hope and pray that nu-metal IS dying..
Linkin Park? Nu-Metal? at least not anymore they aren't... now they're just Alternative Rock, and IMO the new stuff sucks major @$$. i bought the new album and it was a huge disappointment. it isn't anywhere as good as the first, but hey, that's just my opinion. as for Nu-Metal dying, i wouldn't really say that. there's still a few nu-metal bands out there doing well...
