Is it ok for degus to chew on plastic? I have a plastic wheel and they wheel chew on it.
Yes, it is OK but u should put in something else other than the [plastic wheel for ur degu to chew on. The pet stores sell things for hamsters/rabbits/ferrets/rats and pet mice that u can purchase.
No it is not safe for them to chew on your plastic wheel, Plastic it's self contains many toxins which in time could kill them also if they swallow it , then it can create more problems by not being digest able, this in turn can cause ob ructions in their gut killing them and causing great pain , So best remove the wheel.
