Question:

Did i install my heatsink corectly?

the bottom of my heat sink is a circle but my cpu thing is a square and i covered the whole cpu with thermal compound, will the heat sink work since the bottom plate of the heatsink is not a square? i mean it's installed now but i was wondering was this right and will it cause damage? im not sure if its called the cpu or something else but basically its the thing that the heatsink sits on top of, its a square and the plate under the heatsink is a circle

Answer:

The project you describe buying at Walmart sounds like numberedI look at counted as they give you a map, but you're counting your stitches on the canvas.aka it's a blank canvas.
What Is Stamped Cross Stitch
Needlepoint is a generalization that includes all cross stitch and embroideryCounted cross stitch is when there is not a pattern printed on the fabric for you to followThe pattern is given to you on a piece of paperYou need to count where the stitches will belongCross stitch in general can mean both counted or with pattern on the fabricI find the counted much easier.
Whether the heatsink is round or not you don't need to worry about covering the hole CPUThe main CPU dies are located in the middle so if you miss a few tiny inches at the corner you don't need to worryAlso if you put too little or too much thermal paste you won't get any good results and the CPU will start OverheatingIf you put to little paste the heat won't be able to transfer to the heat sink or if you put too much it the heat will be blocked by the pasteIn addition if the thermal paste were to drop on the CPU pins, motherboard or any other hardware it could cause serious problem, from condacting heat if it's a ceramic or silicon or even cause short circuit if it is metalik.
