He is the first to mass produce a printed English version of the Holy Bible.
[He is the first to mass produce a printed English version of the Holy Bible.] Do people just make up stuff to post here? That is not true. Gutenburg invented movable type printing. His first work was a Bible, but he was German, spoke and read German and was working in Germany. Why would he publish an English Bible? It was caxton who imported a printing press into England and published English Bibles. G's major triumph was movable type printing rather than the printing press itself. The idea of making multiple copies from printing was already known, movable type started the revolution because it enabled one set of type to create and print any book. All his innovations were centered around printing.
What Did Johannes Gutenberg Invent
I can't find any information about anything else Johannes Gutenberg invented. In 1440, German inventor Johannes Gutenberg invented a printing press process that, with refinements and increased mechanization, remained the principal means of printing until the late 20th century. The inventor's method of printing from movable type, including the use of metal molds and alloys, a special press, and oil-based inks, allowed for the first time the mass production of printed books. The Gutenberg Bible - 1455 AD - The First Book Ever Printed is Gutenberg's Bible which is the Latin Vulgate. (Edit - It was in Latin not in English or German) 1535 AD: Myles Coverdale's Bible; The First Complete Bible printed in the English Language.
