Question:

diesel additive good or bad?

diesel additive good or bad?

Answer:

You need the treatment type, meaning the stuff that suplements the reduced sulfur content. Here in Ca you look at the pumps at like Shell or the like, there is a stick that states that the fuel meets 07 fuel standards for low sulfer and that any truck that is older than a 07 is not to use that fuel, basicly its illegal, so where to get the right fuel, who the hell knows. But this low sulfur fuel will wear your injector pump and your engine, just like when the EPA took lead out of gasoline
Some are good. None are bad as they do absolutely no harm to your engine, however they do nothing to improve performance or drivability. Stick with major brands that are certified by the engine maker to clean injectors and keep fuel from gelling in cold weather.
it depends on the additive, anything used to keep it from jelling up in cold weather isnt to bad,and there are water reducing additives also that work alright in those, just don't add to much of anything, good luck.
