Difference in rugs and carpets?
A rug is something you lay down on a floor and is easy to change where as carpet covers the whole surface area and is more permanent. As for the texture or substance of the material there isn't much difference :)
The difference between Colors and Colours Or Freeway Expressway Or Cellular phone vs Mobile phone ... basically the difference between American British English. Apart from this Rugs Carpets is the same thing.
