Question:

Digesting popcorn?

I've heard of having allgeric reactions to certain foods but is it possible to not be allgeric to a food but have it really mess up your digestive systemI've noticed (about 3 months now) that whenever I eat popcorn (maybe once/twice a month) that the next day my stools are very irregular and seem to last quite a bit of the dayI wouldn't say the big quot;Dquot; but small minor cramping (not that bad) but always an urge to go and its just not the normal stuff that occurs when taking care of your business It never seems to last more than a day so I've never really asked my Drbut was just wondering if it were possible? And its just been recently that I've began to suspect popcorn!

Answer:

Popcorn is a high fiber foodIf you don't regularly eat a lot of fiber (which you need to), popcorn can mess up your system just like eating a bowl of raisin branTry to increase your fiber intake (slowly) by switching to whole grain bread, brown rice instead of white, and eating more vegetables (not white potatoes).
