Question:

Disabling a car alarm?

How can i disable a crimestopper alarm system. It is really annoying when it goes off, and it is starting to short out and just go off for no apparent reason. I want it off. Is it getting it‘s power from the fuse box, or somewhere else? Please help.

Answer:

i own a shop, and i have installed these before ,it all depends on who installed it,they may have came direct off the battery on it ,or they could have ran it to one of the aux-post on the fuse panel, you,ll probably have to look in the fuse panel for a lead wire that goes to it,this will be its power source, and if it is you can disable it at that point,if you can find the ground for it you can also disable it at this point, they may also have an in line fuse for it ,and it can be disabled there also, really this all depends on who put it in as to where or what which point you can disable it,once you get it done though make sure the car will still start, sometimes they wire this thing to kill the car in case the alarm is disabled, good luck,i hope this help,s.
I have installed these before, You can disconnect either the positive or negative and thus cut polarity but then you are not going to be able to start your car. Look under your dash above your feet, You will see a little module you can pull the in line fuses thus eliminating electrical current.More than likely they are tapped into 12v+ on your main ignition harness and not your fuse box. But most important you will find two wire a White wire and a White w/red stripe, follow these leads. I guarantee they trace back to a cut starter wire. In order for your car to start, you have to put them two wires back together or cut them out and put your original starter wire back together. I highly recommend soldering your connection. Personally I would ensure that the ground is good and turn up the sensitivity on the shock sensor. generally the sensor is zip tied to the steering column. If you have any question e-mail me.I was a service technician at ziebart for 3 years and installed many aftermarket alarms remote starters.
read ur owners manual, i dont know what kind of car you have, but ur owners manual will tell you where the fuse for it is. Solution: remove fuse
