Question:

Distributor wire spade connector broke off?

I have an 89 camaro with an accel hei distributor. I went to unplug one of the two small wires from the ignition coil in the distributor, and the power wire broke off of the spade connector. How do I fix it? Can I put the spade connector back on the wire somehow or do I need to get a new connector? If I get a new connector how do I put that on the wire?

Answer:

you're in a position to have the potential to realize cranking the engine, yet mutually as the vehicle has a protection kit, do no longer rob a financial company in the previous you attempt this pondering you're no longer probable everywhere. reckoning on the type, some alarms inhibit taking off, yet besides, they cut back the gas injectors and ignition. no longer something is hooked as lots because of the fact the timing belt. have self belief me, till finally you would be able to hack the PCM, you're no longer probable everywhere.
Get a new crimp on connector. You can get them at the auto parts store, Radio Shack, or even Wal-Mart. Be sure to buy a cheap pair of crimping pliers too.
You can get a new spade and then solder the wire to the spade and reconnect. If you do not have a soldering iron then buy the spades that crimp on.You can buy a cheap kit at walmart that comes with the crimp tool.
ask for a pig tail connector for your distributor. or for which ever component your dealer may have the part. if not they junk yard or cut connectors off and use butt connectors.
