Question:

do fuel additives really work?

I got a car but the guy who owned it b4 me didnt really seem to take care of it any good. I‘ve never really used fuel or oil additives but im goign to try and do all i can to keep it running nicely for now. and by fuel additives i do not mean the octane boost, i mean the fuel system cleaner and fuel savor.

Answer:

The additives put in your fuel tank rarely work. They typically fall and sit on the bottom of the tank. One fuel system cleaner that I know works is SeaFoam. You will have to suck this SLOWLY into the intake manifold. DO THIS OUTSIDE IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA! It produces a lot of smoke. My car was blowing giant smoke rings. You can also use the rest of it in the fuel tank. Seafoam mixes well because it isnt as thick. Hope this helps
