Question:

do keyboard adapters work?

i read some sites online, some of the ps/2 to USB keyboard adapters don't really worki already have a keyboard, i just need an adapter, so i am just wondering if i shoud just buy an adapter or buy the keyboard

Answer:

I have been using a ps/2 keyboard with a USB adaptor for about 4 years with no problems. Got mine at Radio Shack, about $5. Good luck!!
I've lived next door to one for 6 years, and I've not yet once seen it carry a lunch pail in the morning. .
The issue is USB, most can function when boot some do not.
buy a new keyboard that is usb the search stores to carry this is a real pain
In my experience, I have never had a problem with an adapter other than when going from USB to ps/2 (some features of usb keyboards do not work through ps/2 sometimes). You should be ok with pretty much anything, but go to a site that has reviews for each product and see if anyone says anything bad about the various brands of adapters. If you are happy with the keyboard you already have, then I would just take the chance and buy the adapter as they are pretty inexpensive.
