Why would you use polyester resins given the clear advantages of vinylester and epoxy resin groups? Are you aware that insurance companies specify a minimum of vinylester resin groups in any repair? They will not pay for polyester to be used. Mate, you can use all sorts of stuff if you want to, but there are very good reasons to use matching components in any system - there are coatings and bonding materials specifically designed to work with certain resin groups. The products specifically designed for epoxy products can be used with other resins, but you will not get anywhere near the same bond. If you made otherwise identical items and then destructively test them you will find the one built of the incorrect resin will fail much earlier, as the composite has no true bond at a molecular level between all the materials. Epoxy resin forms a chemical bond with any cellulose present - which is one of the reasons it is far superior to polyester types, so even wood flour is of no particular benefit as a modifier if you are determined to use polyester resins.
