Question:

Do solar panels float?

nan

Answer:

With the Oceans rising as fast as they are, I hope so. LOL
The ones in my neighborhood installed on telephone poles last year all have bird poop all over them and aren't generating any electricity. They can't even generate enough energy to pay for their construction, installation, and ultimately the work required to take them down and destroy them. Talk about a business case that has nothing but negative return on tax payer investment, all to further the lib agenda. All cost, 0 benefit. Classic lib business thought.
I've had people banging on my door to install them unfortunately i can't test the theory The offer came between the government sign-up of insulation where the ensuing deaths of several installers halted the program and the Queensland floods - not a floating panel in sight!
I'd presume they do. They seem flat enough to generate enough surface tension to function as a raft. Not sure if their weight would cause them to sink should the raft capsize though. For what it's worth, there are floating solar panels that are being tested for water-based solar energy plants. The cost per panel is the same as standard solar.
They'll float if you tie enough hundred dollar bills to them.
