Question:

Do the same rules for correcting power factor of AC motors also apply for correcting power factor of AC ?

solenoids?

Answer:

Low Power Factor is due to inductive loads. AC has compressor motor fan motor which are inductive loads. Similarly AC solenoids are inductive coils. Hence to correct PF of AC or solenoids, a suitable capacitor may be connected. Ketan K
Yes, basically you can either correct each motor individually, or correct the supply feeding those motors. Either way the pf will increase, the ideal is 1 but you'll never get it.
