Question:

Some advice on tarantulas?

do they need a lamp, like a heat lamp, or a heat rock or pad. basically, what do they need besides food and water. right now, i have a heat pad and lamp, and mulch stuff.

Answer:

I run water wetter. the least amount is the best, but you need to add enough so that the water pump stays lubed. Follow the directions on the bottle and use DISTILLED WATER don't use tap water. If you use water wetter don't use any other additiveTechnically water by it's self is the best if you live where it doesn't freeze. yet running only water won't get you the lubricant your water pump needs. You are using a NEW radiator cap Right? don't use the old one!
Mix the antifreeze 50/50. The more antifreeze you have in the mix, the hotter the engine will run
No. Do not waste your money on an additive for fixing head gaskets. Get ready to fork out big money for a head gasket job.
At one time i had over 30 and kept all mine on Vermiculite. It will absorb water when misted and keeps the tank humid when done so on a regular basis. It isn't real great for burrowing which is why most use peat moss now- Don't use the heat lamp but an under tank heat pad can be useful to keep the vivarium warm if the temp is too cold in the room. Its better however to keep them in a room that is all the same temp as they don't need to thermo-regulate like reptiles. Make sure there is a good hide (a paper towel tube will work in a pinch) and that you mist the viv regularly. I recommend you read up on them, though. some can be tricky. Hope this helps
