Do waters heaters have alot of copper in them?

i just changed a water heater im my house and i was wondering if they have alot of copper in them. I was wondering because i what to scrap it and take all the copper out ya know what i mean $$$$$$$

water heater has made to heat the water through electricity. electricity has to be connected to element into the water heater. copper is quite expensive metal. element,wire and cables are coppers. make sure that before you throw into the trash u can remove those coppers and make money.

Water heaters have NO copper in them. The metal tank is steel and the inner tank is fiberglass. The only copper would be the OUTSIDE piping to and from the water source. That may or may not be copper.You can tell if it's copper just by looking at it. Copper has become so expensive so must plumbers don't use it anymore. BTW: copper isn't worth that much. You get the same price(per pound) for it as you get for returning aluminum Pepsi cans. Copper thieves need a full pick-up load of all copper to make any money. Just a few pounds will not get you much at all (like $1.75 or less per pound-same as Pepsi cans)
