Question:

Do you recommend buying a CO detector?

My homebuilder recently came to fix my basement and he told me to buy a CO detector since he noticed I didn't have one in my house. I noticed that CO detectors are expensive ($50) I was wondering if it is worth that much.

Answer:

Maybe since it is a crime to pull the alarm if there is no fire. Your mom would get fined, and if you brother was old enough they could have. If you did it, however, then you were just a kid., you can't fine a kid can you? He didn't know any better!
Fire extinguishers usually contain CO2 and sodium bicarbonate. These are inert and not harmful. Wouldn't breathe in any more that Absolutely necessary though.
