Question:

Does a bed tent have to go on the bed?

Found a tent my son really likes but it's a bed tent...Not for sleeping outside, just to play in.

Answer:

look for an indoor/outdoor tent -your child will get more use out of it. opt for something that is not complicated to set up. any toy store will have a few selections.
I have never heard of a bed tent, though I did have a mosquito net over the bed.
those tents are so much fun because you don't have to just keep it on a bed, you can put it anywhere in the house! My son had a Spider Man bed tent that we set up in the living room on occasion and we would camp out and watch his favorite movies. Have fun!
Most bed tents have a part like a fitted sheet that fits over the mattress to help the tent stay in place. A few have straps that Velcro or tie to the bed posts or slip under the mattress. They don't work well off of the bed. Unless this tent says that it can be freestanding, it will probably have to go on the bed.
