Question:

Tall, narrow LCD monitor?

Does anyone know where you can find odd-sized monitors for specific purposes?I'm working in a very confined environment (no, not prison!) where desk space is an absolute premium, and I'd love to find an LCD monitor that is very narrow to hold just palettes say 1600 px tall x 400 px wide.I imagine there might be products like this intended for medical or scientific situations. But does anyone know a supplier or website?

Answer:

This isn't the most helpful of answers but; If you get an extra monitor, Windows or OSX will let you rotate the screen so you can stand the monitor on its side (or twist the screen round if the monitor supports it). Some monitors have this setting built into them. Sorry I can't be of more help.
You can get monitors which will swivel 90 degrees. You need to closely check out the specs. If you get a widescreen monitor and then swivel it you will have a tall thin monitor. Also check in your display settings that there is a rotate option. Most graphic displays will do this.
Contact trade associations, embassies or for free information on buyers and importers of LCD monitors ,send product details and a request by email
