my opinion stay away from it, avoid buying vehicles with high mileage. period.
the old jeeps were one thing the new ones were something else, I don't like chrysler products, particularly 4x4 they are a pain in the *** to work on. Offhand you are going backwards on the mileage part. your truck has 40000 miles that is a long way from 96 thousand I can take any 2 wheel drive pickup, and make it work fine in the snow you need to add about 800 lbs, of Weight and a pair of good studded snow tires from les schwab. and you can add to that with a set of chains. use a shovel and fill the bed up with snow, the added benefit of snow is it melts so you don't have go shovel it out. It does not take the place of a 4x4 it will keep you on any road. save your money, if you are going to buy a 4x4, get a newer one with less miles than you have now. you can subscribe to consumer digest online which has extensive histories of repairs on new and used vehicles. high mileage is high mileage what that means is over the next five years, you will be replacing some expensive parts that are well worn now. take your time, have patience, after all you want to look good in a nice newer 4x4, not sitting in the driveway working on an old highmilage one. good luck
