Does metal security door lower the house value?
I think it doesn't. I have seen a lot of houses with metal doors and do look more elegant than other types of doors. I'm not saying that it's better, I'm just saying that it depends.
I don't know, but if the house has a security door, a buyer will be concerned over the safety in the neighborhood.
Hi Joyce73, No, I do not think so. Look around your neighborhood. If you see more than just your home with a security door, it may be quite acceptable. And a welcome asset of your property. ( Assuming you are the seller ) Your prospective Buyers won't think they have to add one to the home, that one is already installed. Make sure the door os in great working conditioning with no squeaks, working locks, and freshly painted if necessary,etc. Removing the security door might make even more work for you disposal, painting, patching and so on. If you are the new buyer of the area then check crime rates with your Law Enforcement officials of the neighborhood. Reverse the info about the other homes in the area regards to other homes door fronts..Having knowledge of your home and the area you will live in will be as Martha says ' a good thing' Good Luck!
