Question:

Does smoke detectors only detect smoke from fires?

If your smoking in a house with smoke detectors will it go off or does it only detect smoke from fires? Can they tell the difference between the two?

Answer:

A Fire Alarm can detect the difference between smoke and steam. Dont worry!
If you do it yourself, you'll pay by the roll for the fence itself (typically 25 or 50' rolls) and then by 8' sections of pipe. Fittings are sold by the piece. Throw in a separate gate or 2 and you'll have your final price. If you get a contractor to install it, most likely he will give you price for the job based on the length of fence that you'll need. Just divide that by the footage and you'll have your price per running foot. Lowes has 6'x50' rolls for $85 for just the fence and a single gate was $35. 8' pipes were $12.86. I would say add at least $5 per fitting to connect the pipes and the post were $10.
Stop panicking, I used to fall asleep on the floor in front of the fire all the time when I was a kid, never did me any harm apart from a smacked bum from my mum!
