Question:

Does the fiber in almonds reduce absorption of their fats?

Almonds are high in omega 3 fatty acidsBut they're also high in fiber (3 grams per 1 ounce serving)Will this fiber prevent/reduce fat absorption? Would it be counterproductive to take my fish oil capsules along with the almonds due to their fiber content? Thanks.

Answer:

Put on the griddleFlat platePut 1 or 2 cast iron flat weights on top of the baconAnd fry on medium high heatThis will keep it pressed flat while fryingRemove rind before frying with your carving knife And the flat weight will hold some moisture inSave the rind and when you have enough deep fry it in your bacon grease till crispAlso a griddle has a oil grove for the oil to run intoOff the bacon.
Use a higher heat and either remove the rind altogether or cut through the rind at about one inch (2,5 cms) intervalsThis stops the rind from shrinking and curling up the bacon.
I have a medium size Japanese broiler pan which I use to broil my baconI slash the rind part and lay it out on the broiler pan(I lightly spray it with Pam and then cover it with foilBake in my Toaster oven at 375 degrees to 400 degreesFor about 15 minutesdepending on how hot your toaster oven getsRemove form the oven when it's done and pick the pieces up with tongs; lay each strip of bacon on a paper towel and blot the excess fat Yes, the bacon does shrink quite a bitYou can buy thin sliced bacon or thick sliced bacon; I like the thin bacon best.
I'm actually REALLY glad you asked this! I'm kind of an expert at cooking bacon! There's two pretty great ways to cook bacon, and the two ways I'm going to teach you, you will be very glad to learn, neither requires having a dirty, disgusting backsplash when you're done! First, never put cold bacon in a hot pan over high heatLet it sit out and put room temperature bacon on a room temperature pan and cook over medium heatThis way the bacon won't scorchLet it gradually start sizzling, and then pay attention(Something my husband loves to do at this point is put a smaller-sized lid over the bacon, just to let it cook more evenly.) Something I personally LOVE to do is cook it in the oven in a baking pan lined with parchment paper! What I saw last year on t.vthat I found SCRUMPTUOUS is adding equal parts of black pepper, rosemary, and brown sugarMix the three in a bowl, them simply sprinkle it over the bacon (you don't have to rub it in)Put into oven and bake at 375 for about 10-15 minutes, depending on your likingIf you cook the whole pack, I recommend two things: 1) First time out, split up if you're going to try the brown sugar recipeThat way you can decide if you like it that way 2) Any leftovers can be easily warmed up in microwave for 10-15 seconds for the next few days.
Almonds are not high in omega 3Fiber does not reduce fat absorptionAvocados have bothFish are are very polluted so do not take fish oil capsules unless they are the expensive PHARMACEUTICAL GRADE with the poisons taken outI use milled flaxseeds for omega-3 since it is very high in them and is one of the best fibers known to man for the colonIt is also high in lignans whcih are good for healthSee site below for more on nutrition and also see page on NATURAL HEALING.
