Question:

Dog Bed??!!?

I have a little puppy that sleeps with me every night. He has his own bed but loves to sleep on my bed. Does anyone have any ideas of how i can make his bed more comfy?! also im really bored and need something to do :Pthanks!

Answer:

I also have a puppy and when I first got her she liked to sleep with me, she likes her bed to nap in but wasn't to sure about it when it was night, her bed is small and comfy. What I did is at bed time, she would climb up on the bed and I would take her bed and put it on the floor beside my bed, and put her in it, she got out a couple times, but I continued to put her in it, and now she knows at bed time to sleep in her bed, you might want to get a fleece blanket for her bed, and put a snugle toy in there, that might work. Good luck
He's not sleeping with you because his bed is less comfy. He is sleeping with you because he thinks he is your leader and that you do not deserve to be in a higher place up on the bed. Learn to be your dog's pack leader or he'll be trouble As adults, dogs look to their pack leader to create that stability. They don’t question the pack leader’s position, and the pack leader doesn’t look to the dogs to affirm his position. This is the natural balance of the pack. When a puppy enters the world, his first pack leader is his mother. Canine moms teach rules, boundaries, and limitations from day one!
By not letting him sleep on your bed he'll find that his bed is much comfier than the floor. It sounds harsh but it's true. His bed doesn't have a box spring and quality mattress, nor does it have a warm human to cozy up to. My Basset Hound isn't allowed on my bed at all, he has his own dog bed that he loves and I keep it close to the heating vent (but not on! It should be at least 10-12'' away) so he won't get chilly. But even with those comfy arrangements, if I let him on my bed he wouldn't touch his own. It's just common sense.
put his bed next to your's and when you go to sleep put your hand down so your dog can lick it to get use to sleeping next to you not with you.
Well my dog likes to do that too... i figured it out after a while that he had a blanket when he was a new born and it was the same kind of fabric on my bed, meaning the blanket comforted him, so if its not such a bg deal you can out the blanket in the dog bed and he may sleep there after he realizes its comforting
