Question:

Dog Coat for Hunting Dogs?

I need the opinion of people who hunt, more specifically, people who hunt with their dogs! I live in MN and make dog coats. My coats are affordable, stylish, and comfortable. I've recently been thinking of making some brightly colored coats with reflective fabric for people who run with their dogs. I've also thought about hunting coats for people who hunt with their dogs (in bright orange of course). Since I don't hunt with my dog I wasn't sure if this is something that would sell well. My idea for the coat is to make it hunters orange with tough material on the outside and soft fleece on the inside (usually my coats are double layer fleece but I think fleece on the outside would cause problems with burrs). Opinions and advice from hunters with dogs would be really helpful!* If you are someone who thinks dogs don't need coats or you don't like to put clothing on your dog that is fine, but please don't be rude in regard to my question. Thank you!

Answer:

You can always use potable water for fire fighting. Most cities [in the USA] feed their hydrants with the same mains as used for drinking water. Much depends on the cleanliness of the tank in question, however. I would only use separate systems if the availability or cost of potable water was a problem, but non-potable water was readily available.
Why were you avoiding the bump? Why not just go over it slowly? I think that cop had a right to give you a ticket-you drove in an unsafe manner. Were you over the double yellow lines, if the road had any? Were you on the other side of the road? If anything he thought you were drunk and driving recklessly. Yes this will certainly have this as a point against your license. But you can always go to court and fight it. Try explaining your reasoning for driving that way. It could cost a couple hundred. Go to the local court and file for your case to be heard.
