Question:

Durable Dog Bed?????

I have a toy poodle and for some reason he always attacks his bed and chews holes in it making stuffing go everywhere and me buying him fifty beds.Is there a really durable dog bed that it still soft and cosy?

Answer:

COMFORTABLE, CHEAP AND HYGIENIC DOG BEDS. My rigid plastic dog beds are forty five years old; they are still intact and hygienic. I have never bought posh dog beds because it is almost impossible to put them into the washing machine. I use plastic beds which are cheap and easy to clean. Nevertheless my dog beds are very comfortable and they look very posh, when they are dressed up to provide comfort for my dogs. I cut foam for the base; I then drape a duvet over this to hang over the sides. This conceals the fact that they are cheap plastic beds. I buy cheap pretty duvet covers to blend in with my colour scheme. I then put “Vet Beds” on top on the duvet. The contents of the bed can be put into my washing machine and I clean the plastic beds with vinegar every week. Obviously a new puppy would chew a duvet and the foam base; consequently for a puppy, I just use a “Vet Bed” in my basic and hygienic plastic bed. I will admit that although my old plastic beds are reasonably sound, there is evidence that all of my puppies have had a nibble at the edges.
sturdy success finding something she would be waiting to not chew. I truthfully have a german shepherd/husky combination and he has long exceeded via 2 beds so a ways. They like to chew. I truthfully have a huge mattress with a bumper around it that my older german shepherd makes use of and he hasn't ripped that one up yet. They share it. he's pulled it around some circumstances and that i've got repremanded him on it so he seems to depart that one on my own. I went and offered 2 new beds and neither dogs will use them, they proceed to share the previous mattress. i've got not seen any which would be dogs information so sturdy success.
If you're looking for durability (chew proof-ness), I think that Big Barker and K9 Ballistics are the toughest brands around (the rectangular types). There's also Kuranda Beds, but they're more like elevated cots, so it's a different kind of dog bed, if interested. My favourite beds are Harry barker beds - they're cosy, and I like the hemp fabric a lot - they're not as chew proof as Big Barker and K9 Ballistics, but they're really nice, and are one of the most well designed beds out there. ;)
I okorder /... All three of them are very durable, but slightly too narrow for crates. My Wolf Hybrid tries to attack her bed, too. lol
Buy a Human Pillow any size you like from small to king. it depends on the size of dog you need it for. Human Pillows are less expensive so if he tares it up you didn't loose as much money. so if you can sew by any chance buy some Soft Fleece Material and sew the soft fleece over the pillow you bought. It makes great dog beds and they are washable! they will go right back to shape to after washing and just fluff it up after you wash it alittle and its still nice and soft for your dog. I make my own dog beds plus they are way better cause they don't go Flat like dog beds do after a while. And the inside of most dog beds are not washable only the outside cover is washable. so through the years i to wasted money on dog beds until i started making my own beds. and they love them. just put down a dog bed and a pillow and see which one they go to.! they are much softer and fluffy. and they are more sturdy too and less likely to tare up so easily for your dog. you can try one and see but i think dog beds are more easy for them to tare apart and are made cheap. a bed pillow may be to hard for him to rip or tare sense the material is stronger then the ones used on dog beds.. it wouldn't hurt to try one and see how he does. and you might want to give him a dog bone to chew up instead or to keep him busy while he is on his new pillow! good luck.
