Question:

Evacuation necessary for a hurricane in New York?

There are reports that if a hurricane were heading towards New York City, it would be necessary to evacuate millions of people very quicklyWhy would it be necessary to evacuate at all? Perhaps it is necessary for those in wooden houses that live on coasts, but what about apartment buildings made out of concrete and/or steelWouldn't it be safer for those residents to remain in place at their homes?

Answer:

Did the dress suit the hat you are wearing? This poem is just lovely CynthiaThe man changed his mind and became old fashioned - I like that role reversal/change of heartYou gave him reason he saw it.not a nornal response from a man(except possibly Neonman lol) Well done!
I'm not sure I could wear thatI would be out of characterThere is NOTHING subtle about meI love how you see yourself and the ability to relate something simple ( a dress) to something complex (you)I don't believe the last line, tell the truth, there was more kiss to it than that.
Again - judging a book by its coverThe dress is appreciated for how it feels, how it was made and the quality of the fabric - its versatility and completenessThe cloth itself is not in question - only the cutIf the wearer has any sewing savvy - adjustments may be made to bring the garment up to speedAn old saying is - Wait long enough - and everything eventually comes back in style
Like the subtle weave of the fabric you speak about, the poems subtly weaves a message for those who love the wordIt does take a long time to find the right pattern, sometimes a lifetime, but you have found it in this poem.
There is more than just the physical integrity of the buildings to considerWhat about the services? Gas, electric, water, etc will be seriously compromisedIt would be better to move people out before the storm, then let them back as services could return to normalThe same goes for floodingSitting safe in on the 34th floor is going to get old quickly if there is three feet of water on the street, and the basement (with your car) is floodedDouble the pleasure when you remember that the A/C will be off, lights will be out, elevator won't work, and three guys who figure there is something in your apartment worth stealing are at the doorPhone is outThis seems like a huge precautionMy guess is that evacuations will be based on how strong the storm is, which direction the wind is coming from, the storm's predicted track and speed, and the time (and tide phase) at which it will hitA category 5 hitting NYC would be a disaster worthy of massive evacuationA category 1 would probably be uncomfortable, and worthy of a lower level of evacuationAnything in between would be in between.
