Exactly how soft is pure gold?

Is it equivalent to Play-doh? Equivalent to newly opened clay? Just more of a comparison to how soft pure gold is and what karat is considered pure gold.

Answer:

Imagine copper flash plating that you might put on a roof. It is marginally more malleable than that. Also, if this means anything to you, it is soft (in this case, not-brittle) enough to hammer out a single gram of it into a 1 square meter sheet.
24 karat is pure gold - it is malliable - a little tougher than play dough - but not by much
