Question:

Finding the midline of a ferris wheel?

A Ferris wheel is 50 meters in diameter. The bottom of the wheel is 6 meters above the ground. The wheel completes one full revolution every 10 minutes. At the initial time t0, you are at the bottom of the wheel. Midline: y31. Can you please explain why?

Answer:

The center of the wheel, the axis, is 31 meters off the ground. The bottom of the wheel is 6 meters off the ground, so the center of the wheel is 25 meters above that (half the diameter of 50). Add those together, 6 + 25 and you get 31.
tricky stuff. seek over search engines like google. just that can help!
