Question:

Fixing a windshield wiper motor?

The motor is still good, but either the arm or motor has stripped causing the wiper to stop at one side. Don‘t see any screws, but going to remove the cowl to check. Can I JB weld this? The car is a 98 Saturn SC2 and the motor estimate is $60. Cheap ‘good enough‘ solutions is what I‘m looking for.

Answer:

Call around to the big do it yourself auto wreckers that's your best bet and take the whole wiper assembly so you have everything you'll need and it will be cheap. Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way wipers are very critical therefore best not to try Jb weld or things like that just replace it that is the best solution and safest way if you ask me.
Try a wrecking yard yet?.Parts to fix windshield wiper assemblies usually cheap
I'm not quite sure how the Saturn wiper arms are mounted to the assembly, but if they are mounted the way most GM vehicles are this is the way I've fixed a few and it seems to work good. The splined peg that the wiper arm rides on is probably what is stripped out, so the way I do a quick fix on them is to use Teflon tape around the splined peg to make the arm tight. Hope this helps.
