Question:

flexible drive for transmitting torque along 4mm tube?

How do flexible drives work? I want to transfer torque from one end of a flexible tube to another. I assume it uses some kind of very viscous continuum medium or a stack of flexible couple plates. Any book drawings, specs or book reference is what I am looking for. I couldn't find anything on Google. Thank you for your time and effort

The flexible drive for my dremel uses a small steel cable inside of a plastic tube. One end of the cable is attached to the motor, the other end is connected to the chuck.
