Question:

flixing a zippo flint wheel.?

my zippo lighters flint wheel won‘t turn. i just bought it today and it was working earlier. the wheel turns backwards but not forwards.

Answer:

it needs a piece of flint. Pull the lighter out of the case. You will see a brass screw on the bottom. Remove it and the spring that it is attached. put in a flint and replace everything. Flints are available almost anywhere that sell lighters. The usually come 5 on a little plastic card
It sounds like there is know flint in it, but if there is a flint in the lighter you probably have a lemon for a lighter. My father has used zippo lighters for years and when ever it stops working, he just sends it back to zippo for repair or replacement. They,re guarentied for life. P.S, these lighters are made ronsol.
Loosen the flint tension screw so there is less pressure on the flint and see if you can get it working that way or you could just take the flint out and insert it with the other end first and start all over. Flints usually do not give you trouble unless the flint is worn all of the way down and a small piece gets co cked in the tube and jambs the wheel. This is easily cured by turning the wheel backwards and removing the stump and inserting a new flint.
