Question:

For a guinea pig cage what do you put under the fleece?

I want to use fleece bedding because it sounds much easier to clean up poops. I was wondering what you are supposed to put under the fleece to absorb the pee??? Please only answer if you have used fleece in a guinea pig cage!

Answer:

Two layers of towels are the most common and easiest choice. Some people use puppy pads, but really I think towels work a lot better and are easier to come by. I've been using towels for over a year under my fleece and they don't smell and clean up really nicely! Make sure to use two layers or else it can seep through. Newspaper or cardboard can be used, but I find they get messy and wet quickly and tend to stink more. I've tried it.
I have newspaper under my fleece. A couple layers of newspaper and 2 layers of fleece. I pick up poops every day and wash fleece once a week. I do have a litter box that 2 out of the 3 of my gp's use. The 3rd one pees just outside the box (figures) so I make sure there are more layers of paper there. I do pick out wet clumps out of the litter box every day as well. I do not have any problem with odor.
panasonic dmc-sz7 is the perfect camera for you and only 140 pound
i use fleece at the moment. i put a layer of newspaper on the bottom, then two layers of towels, then two layers of fleece. its brill but make sure when you buy your fleece to wash it 4 times to get rid of the waterproof barrier else the wee stays on the top and doesnt get wicked away to the underbeddings
