I have a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT. I just had Ford replace all 3 of my wipers. They told me that they do not make wiper inserts and the entire arm must also be replaced. My windshield wipers are fine but my rear wiper still skips about 50% of the window (right in the middle.) I thought that if they replace the arm this would be fixed. So did they scam me, and only replace the inserts or is this another issue?
LOOK at the part? Does it look new or does it look like the old one? If it's new maybe they just installed it wrong or put the wrong one on. If it's the old one check your reciept and see what they charged you for.
Take the truck back to them and show them what is happening - they should hahe tried the wipers after fitting them - just wiper inserts r not very common espesly for a truck as new as yours .u could allways tri looking 4 them on line.
bending it might help a little, but it sounds like the internal spring has sprung and not keeping it against the window. It is inside the window arm
