It sounds like a power loss. Make sure the batteries you installed are good. If that doesn't work check the hardwired power supply. Maybe it was shut off at the breaker? If that doesn't work make sure you don't have a CO/Smoke detector. It maybe detecting carbon monoxide which is common with poorly maintained furnaces/leaky chimneys. If that doesn't work you may need a new smoke detector. They only have a life span of about 5 years. The sensors go bad.
Greetings, , and I have had some experience with smoke detectors. Your problem is not common as replacing of the batteries typically solves a chirping of the detectors. In order to research further I contacted two of the most popular smoke detector manufacturers in the US, Kidde and First Alert. In speaking with them it seems that if all of the batteries were replaced and are/were new and fully charged, the only way that you could have a random beep would be a wiring issue involving a loose wire. I would be certain that all of the batteries are in fact new, and if not this should be the case and they should either be checked or replaced. Hope that helps.
I have the same damn problem :/ ive been going without smoke detectors months because of it. Did you try blowing the dust off of them?
Despite what the manufacturers tell you there is another cause for the chirping when you have good batteries and the power is on. When the detector has been in use for more than 5 years, they get old and sometimes they die. Check the date of manufacture for each detector, more than 5 years old, replace them all. $30 a unit is very cheap life insurance for 5 years. It also may keep you from having to rebuild the home.
