Question:

Frozen cemetary grounds?

During the winter , when there needs to be a burial , how is the grass and dirt in the cemetary shoveled up ? Isnt the mud too frozen for anyone to dig a 6 foot hole ?

Answer:

They used machines to dig them now. A backhoe!
It is if you dig by hand but most use a back hoe that can break through the frost line
Backhoes, the machines that dig the holes, are powerful, can dig out the frozen soil in most cases with little problem.
backhoes and bobcats are more than powerful enough to dig through a few inches of frozen earth. Now if your in northern canada or alaska you might have to wait to go in the ground. but no hurry, its not like youll decompose if the temp is so cold the backhoe cant dig you a whole!
Most places use a back hoe, or excavator. If its really frozen they have to wait.
