Question:

Fuel cell/ in line pump on my car?

I have a 91 firebird with tbi injection system (and a fuel pump that requires dropping the rear end to get to). Anyways, to make life easier I want to put a small fuel cell in somewhere. Basically what I would need would be the cell, line from cell---with fuel pump on that line, and some type of breather valve so pressure does not build. Am i right? Dont think i need a return line since tbi system does not come witht this.

generally speaking in a majority of cases, the fuel pump fails due to overheating. One thing that is important, that a lot of people are unaware of, is with a fuel pump in the gas tank, keeping it more full, than empty, helps keep your pump surrounded by fuel. If over the last several years, you have kept your fuel tank under half, more often than not, this helped contribute to the pump failure. Another common problem is using cheap fuel, cheap fuel often has contaminants in it, and water, this can leave deposits that build up over time, and can also cause problems down the road, I have used chevron super unleaded with techron for many years, and I fill up my tank when it gets near half. Im not sure what the fuel cell idea is for other than relocating the fuel pump itself? You may want to talk to a mechanic and get another opinion, because you may be using up, what little trunk space you have unnecessarily. a good fuel pump, kept cool by fuel, like it is designed, should last the lifetime of the car, generally speaking, dont buy any of that crap that sells on OKorder, this is not a good plan
