Question:

Full body flame retardant suit for show?

I have a problem that requires professional advice. I am doing a show involving pyrotechnics, and one main attraction is the man on fire. The idea is to have a full-body flame/heat retardant jumpsuit. When the show is over, he slips out of the suit and to the crowd it looks like he was really on fire. I need something like this which could easily survive being completely engulfed in fire for at least 30 seconds. Besides lava suits, I don't know where to look so far. Any advice?

This is complicated. Reflective material reflect heat where opaque black surfaces obsorb heat, so a box with a reflector on top will reflect most of the external heat, but if its reflective on the inside, it will reflect any internal heat generated (this is how a thermus works). But if there is black opaque material, then it will obsorb it and provide a constant source for the contents in the box. It depends on the source of the heat, but with it being the sun, the box with the black paper will get hotter. If the source were a lightbulb inside the box, then the one with the foil would get hotter.
If the alarm is beeping only at night, the most likely cause is someone is burning incense, candles or smoking in their room. The Fire Alarms are all connected so if one room has a fire, everyone is notified and can get out. Try finding the person causing the alarm to go off and tell them to knock off the conduct causing the alarm to sound. That is what the land lord will try to do when you complain. They guy who suggested calling the fire dept. does not know what he is saying. In most states if the fire dept. comes out and finds no problem with the alarm, meaning it is working as it should, but someone is causing it to sound, the land lord can charge the cost back to the deposit of the tenant who called since there isn't a real problem.
