Question:

Getting tires at costco?

this is the first time I‘m getting my tires changed at costco for my 2010 Lexus RX350. I‘ve never done this before (i‘m only 16) what exactly do i tell the people about my tires. that they‘re 19 inch, P235 tires? is that it or is there more to it?? I don‘t want to sound dumb when I talk to them lol.

Answer:

Stay away from off shore tires. Check the four digit number on the inside rim of the tire. Those four numbers will tell you when the tires were made. Do not buy old tires, even if they look new, they may not be. Ask for new tires and do not get retreads. Know the exact size your car needs. Ask about a refund for the tires you leave behind. Some places will give you a good deal. I would never get tires at Costco, Walmart, Canadian Tire or any road side places. I get mine right from the company that makes the brand I want. I use Michelins.
If you're all about getting the best price, many tire stores price match. So if you can find the same tire somewhere for cheaper, a tire warehouse might match the price and take 10% off. I've done this twice for two of my friends (I love shopping for deals). You won't need to tell them anything - they know tires. You simply might want to ask them what TYPE of tires you want. As in do you want all season tires? Or do you want summer tires? Or if you live in a rainy area, you might want to get all season tires that are great in the rain (yes they specifically make them - I had the Toyo Versados and they're the best tires I've ever owned).
