Hey I am a fairly experience guitar player and my first guitar was a squire bullet stratI have since obtained an Ibanez RGA32, as I was fairly into metal and hard rock when I got itSince then I have started loving The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton etcand have learnt several of their songs, but found my Ibanez had far too much gain, even when in clean on my MarshellSo to the pointI was looking at buying a Fender American Strat when it occured to me I could just upgrade my squireSo even though the woods would not be anywhere near the same quality, I can upgrade it to have hardware as good as, if not better than, that of a Fender stratI would change just about everything, leaving only the woodThe pickups, bridge, tuning machines, pots, strap pegs, even the pick guard, pickup selector and tone and volume knobs could be replacedSo I was wondering about what you guys think, whether an upgraded squire would be better, or an Fender strat.
