Question:

good or bad cold air intake?

good or bad cold air intake?

Answer:

I think that they are ok if you mount them correctly. Making sure to put the sensors that are supposed to be in them back in them in the correct spot. The theory is to speed the air up in which velocity will cool the air down. Cold air is more compact than hot air. Which should pack more into the cylinders increasing horsepower and efficiency. In theory. Problems that I have seen with k and n type filters is that they need oil to work right and the oil gets stuck on your hot maf and makes it malfunction.
Bad. Look at it, how can it be a col air intake if it is not sealed off from the open engine compartment? As it sits, it is just sucking in hot engine air which is worse for performance than the factory set up.
sucks! cold air intake should have some sort of plumbing to lead cold outside air into it. not just open sitting next to the hot engine. a hood scoop setup is an example of a good cold air intake.
