Question:

Grand Theft 3rd degree on a minor, what will he most likely get?

3 minors (15-17) stole my iphone 4s (valued at $550) from inside the building where i work from the front desk. The lobby door was locked but they managed to get lucky and opened it. I reported it to the police and showed them video evidence of the crime. nothing came got solved so I got some of my brothers friends in highschool to ask around and they found one of the kids and gave me his full name and facebook page. I provided this information to the police and i am still WAITING! so my question is, will this kid see any charges or will he get a slap on the wrist? from what ive researched in Florida theft of 300 dollars or more is Grand Theft (a 3rd degree Felony punishable at a max of 5 years but no minimum) MY second question, what more can i do? I really am coming close to the point of finding this kids address and demand his parents pay upfront.

Answer:

Yes, on your private property. They need a permit though, just like a new driveway would.
I have brought my camera there with me and took pictures and even a little video (it wasn't of a band, just us acting like young ppl;)) and I have never heard of anyone say anything. As far as meet n greet, I don't think they will allocate a time for it, but it is a relatively small place so if you get lucky maybe!
